The Dual 360 fastening system is designed specifically for the Dual 360 Composite Decking system. It is built to support cleaner installations, more consistent spacing, and better long-term board stability than basic hidden t-clip systems.

The hidden fastener system uses a toothed clip profile that locks into the board's side groove for a secure mechanical connection. Standard clips are installed at every joist to create a uniform 6 mm gap for drainage and airflow. In contrast, one locking clip is installed at the center of each board to control lateral movement while still allowing natural expansion and contraction.

Starter fasteners complete the system by securing boards where standard hidden clips cannot be used. They are required for the first and last rows of deck boards, bullnose board installation, and many stair and step applications.

Together, hidden fasteners and starter fasteners create a more complete, structurally sound, and professional decking system.

Dual 360 starter fasteners are used where hidden clips cannot be installed.

They are typically required for:

• The first row of deck boards
• The last row of deck boards
• Bullnose deck boards
• Stair and step installations

Starter fasteners help secure perimeter boards, maintain alignment, and complete the hidden fastening system at exposed deck edges.

For proper installation and consistent board support, starter fasteners should be installed at the same spacing as hidden fasteners:

• Recommended: one starter fastener every 12"
• Maximum: one starter fastener every 16"

This ensures perimeter boards remain properly secured and aligned with the rest of the decking system.

Starter fasteners are sold separately from hidden fasteners so that customers can order the correct quantity based on their project layout.

The Dual 360 fastener system is designed for use with precision-grooved composite deck boards to ensure proper spacing, alignment, and long-term structural performance.

• Install standard clips at every joist
• Install only one locking clip per board, regardless of board length

For example:

• 4 ft board = 1 locking clip
• 8 ft board = 1 locking clip
• 16 ft board = 1 locking clip

Using more than one locking clip per board can restrict natural expansion and contraction, potentially leading to board stress or long-term performance issues.

If you have unused locking clips, they can still be used as standard clips by installing only one screw into the joist and not fixing the clip to the board. This allows them to function like a regular hidden fastener while maintaining proper spacing.

When installing a locking clip, the second screw into the decking board should be pre-drilled with a pilot hole. Composite decking should be treated more like plastic than wood during fastening, especially in colder weather conditions.

• Install where hidden clips cannot be used
• Secure the first and last boards carefully
• Use for bullnose edges and stair applications
• Install at consistent spacing to match hidden fasteners (recommended 12" on-centre, maximum 16" on-centre)
