3D deep embossed wood grain composite decking uses a 3D embossing machine to press a wood grain pattern onto the composite material. This results in a realistic wood grain texture that looks and feels like natural wood. It also provides a visually appealing and anti-slip surface, making it suitable for outdoor use. 

Co-extrusion composite decking combines two or more layers of composite material, with the top layer being durable and scratch-resistant and the bottom layer softer for cushioning and flexibility. It's important to keep in mind that no composite decking product is completely fade-proof, no matter what brand you choose.

However, co-extrusion decking has a protective outer layer that can help prevent fading caused by UV rays and other environmental factors. This type of decking may experience a fade rate of around 3-4% over the deck's lifespan.

On the other hand, all uncapped composite decking will undergo a natural weathering process after installation. This is due to UV exposure and the natural oils in the wood being washed out with an initial fade rate of between 5-8 % in the first 3-6 months before stabilizing. The fade will be minimal after the initial weathering process, leaving you with a durable, lasting deck for years.

It's important to note that 3D deep embossed uncapped deck boards have greatly improved over the years from first-generation. Our new generation of Eco Deck™ Prestige boards last had an upgraded anti-fade pigmentation in 2022. 

With some light cleaning maintenance, you will have a beautiful deck for years, no matter what composite material you choose.
 

Yes, composite decking can get hot in direct sunlight like any other outdoor surface. However, some composite decking products have a lower heat retention rate than others, making them a better choice for areas with high temperatures. It's important to consider the climate in your area.

When it comes to heat resistance, hollow composite decking, like both Eco Deck™ Prestige and Advanced boards, maybe a better option than solid boards, this is because the hollow construction allows for better ventilation and airflow, which can help reduce heat buildup. 

Additionally, other factors such as colour and texture can also play a role in how much heat the decking retains. Lighter colours and smoother textures tend to absorb less heat than darker colours and rougher textures.

E-transfer: You can send an e-transfer to ecodeckcanada@gmail.com

Auto deposit is set up, so there is no need for a password. You can make multiple transactions if your bank account has a daily limit that is less than your invoice.

Credit Card: We accept all major credit cards. However, a 2.4% surcharge will be applied to cover transaction fees charged by the credit card processing company.

Cash: We accept cash on pick-up or delivery. Before arranging a delivery date, we require a 30% deposit. You can pay the deposit through e-transfer or by meeting with us in person with cash.

Both Advanced Deck and Premium Fence products come with a limited 25-year manufacturer's warranty, while all Prestige Deck products have a 20-year warranty.

The warranty covers defects due to manufacturing under regular use. Please read through the warranty carefully before purchasing the product.

To keep your composite decking clean and in good condition, start by sweeping away leaves and debris with a broom. Then, mix warm water and mild detergent solution (dish soap) and use a soft-bristled brush to scrub the deck. When you're done, rinse it off with a hose and let it air dry.  

If using a power washer, ensure the maximum pressure doesn't exceed 1500 psi. Also, remember to spray in the direction of the grain of the boards and use a fan tip nozzle at least 6 inches away from the surface. Avoid using harsh chemicals, as these can damage the composite material. 

Following these steps can keep your composite decking looking great for years.

 

When it comes to hidden fasteners for Eco Deck™ Prestige or Advanced deck board systems, you have two options: 3mm or 6mm. Both types of fasteners have been designed to allow for expansion, contraction, and drainage, and both are equally effective. The choice between the two comes down to personal preference and aesthetics.

One of the main differences between a 3mm stainless steel and a 6mm plastic fastener is the spacing between the deck boards. The 3mm fastener provides a tighter gap between the boards, while the 6mm fastener provides a slightly wider gap. If you prefer a tighter spacing, go for the 3mm option. The 6mm is the way to go if you prefer a wider spacing.

The 6mm plastic clips are popular because they are easy to install quickly. They also allow you to lift a single panel out of the run if you need to access the bottom of the deck at a certain spot. The 3mm metal clip is not as forgiving and will require you to disassemble the deck panels to reach the spot you need to access.

Colour is also something to consider, as the clips will be visible even if they are mostly hidden. Depending on your preference, you can choose between stainless steel or black plastic fasteners.
