How to Measure a Deck Frame
To get the most useful estimate, measure the full deck area before entering your dimensions.
- Measure the full deck length and width
- If your deck has multiple sections, estimate each section separately and add the square footage together
- Measure the total length of exposed edges where bullnose boards may be used
- If you want fascia, the estimator will use the same exposed edge length as a starting point
- Double-check all measurements before submitting
For angled, multi-level, stair-heavy, or custom picture-frame layouts, final quantities should be confirmed by the homeowner, deck builder, or installer before ordering.
