These fasteners are easy to install and allow for individual panels to be lifted out if needed. 6mm hidden fasteners can be used to secure the boards without any visible screws or nails. These fasteners are inserted into the decking board's side grooves and screwed into the joist, creating a secure, seamless connection. The benefits of using hidden fasteners include a smooth, hazard-free surface, easier maintenance, and protection against moisture and warping, which can extend the lifespan of decking boards.

  Starter Fastener Clip & Screw (25 units per bag)

How you attach your boards is very important. These hidden starter clips create a clean look, perfect for creating an unseen deck fastening system. The starter clip secures each run's first and last boards to keep the decking body in place. They are also used for Eco Deck™ edge boards.

The number of starter fasteners needed varies per project, but we recommend one clip for every 12" (300mm) on average.

When it comes to hidden fasteners for Eco Deck™ Prestige or Advanced deck board systems, you have two options: 3mm (1/8 in) or 6mm (1/4in).

Both fasteners have been designed to allow for expansion, contraction, and drainage, and both are equally effective. The choice between the two comes down to personal preference and aesthetics.

One of the main differences between a 3mm stainless steel fastener and a 6mm plastic fastener is the spacing between the deck boards. The 3mm fastener provides a tighter gap between the boards, while the 6mm fastener provides a slightly wider gap. If you prefer a tighter spacing, go for the 3mm option. The 6mm is the way to go if you prefer a wider spacing.

The 6mm plastic fasteners are our most popular option with customers because they install quickly. They also allow you to lift a single panel out of the run if you need to access the bottom of the deck at a certain spot. The 3mm metal clip is not as forgiving and will require you to disassemble the deck panels to reach the spot you need to access.

Colour is also worth considering, as the clips will still be visible even when mostly hidden. Depending on your preference, you can choose between stainless steel or black plastic fasteners.
